Federal Government Launches ₦250 Billion Hostel Project
"The Federal Government has announced a ₦250 billion initiative to construct world-class student hostels across various tertiary institutions in Nigeria."
Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, announced that the Federal Government, through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), is investing ₦250 billion in 2026 to address severe accommodation shortages in Nigerian universities and polytechnics. The project includes the construction of new bed spaces across over 50 institutions and is supported by public-private partnerships, aiming to improve student welfare and learning conditions nationally.
