The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a fresh advisory to 2026 UTME candidates regarding the use of mobile devices for official admission operations. In a recent social media engagement, the board clearly stated that candidates must not rely on mobile phones for performing critical tasks such as registration, result uploading, or accepting admission offers.
The board noted that the official JAMB portal and the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) require a desktop interface to ensure that all bio-data, subject combinations, and O'level results are captured accurately. Mobile browsers often fail to render these complex forms properly, leading to errors that can disqualify a candidate during the admission process. Candidates are advised to visit accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers or trusted cybercafés to carry out these operations.
Additionally, the board addressed concerns regarding portal closure dates. While the portal is currently active and processing results, there is no official closing date for the 2026 cycle at this time. However, candidates are encouraged to complete their document uploads as soon as possible to avoid the last-minute rush that typically accompanies the release of final admission lists. Maintaining personal data integrity is the responsibility of the candidate, and any attempt to manipulate the portal using unauthorized software may lead to the cancellation of the candidate's admission profile.
