JAMB Announces June 13 Mop-Up Date for 2026 UTME Candidates
"The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has scheduled a mop-up examination for June 13, 2026, for candidates who encountered technical glitches."
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that a mop-up examination for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will hold on Saturday, June 13, 2026. This decision comes as a relief to thousands of candidates who were unable to complete their examination due to unforeseen technical difficulties encountered at various Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country during the primary examination window, which ran from April 16 to April 29.
According to an official statement, the board has carefully reviewed reports from various examination centres and identified candidates who were biometrically verified but suffered system failures, power outages, or other verified technical setbacks. The mop-up test serves as the final opportunity for these affected students to secure their scores for the 2026 admission cycle.
Candidates are advised to log into their JAMB profiles or visit the official JAMB website to confirm if they have been selected for this mop-up exercise. Furthermore, the board emphasized that only those who were previously verified at their designated centres during the initial attempt are eligible. Failure to appear for this rescheduled examination will result in the loss of the opportunity to participate in the 2026 admission process. The board continues to work with technical partners to ensure the infrastructure for this exercise is robust and capable of handling the remaining candidates efficiently.
