JAMB Maintains Strict NIMC Data Integration Policy for 2026 Admissions

In a bid to curb identity fraud and enhance the integrity of the admission process, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reiterated its commitment to the compulsory integration of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) data for all 2026 UTME candidates. Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede stressed that the board will not process, correct, or accept any personal data that does not correspond with the information generated by the NIMC.

This policy is part of a broader strategy to eliminate 'ghost' candidates and reduce manipulation during the registration and examination phases. The board clarified that any attempt to bypass these verification protocols during registration or the post-UTME phase will result in the immediate invalidation of the candidate's application. The requirement includes the use of advanced biometric verification, including mandatory high-definition camera capturing for the second image during registration.

Candidates are warned that the board has invested in sophisticated monitoring tools to ensure that registration activities at various centres across the country can be viewed in real-time from the JAMB National Headquarters in Abuja. Any centre failing to comply with these technological requirements faces decertification and potential legal action. Parents and students are advised to ensure their NIN records are up-to-date and correctly matched with their JAMB profile to avoid unnecessary complications during the admission screening exercises which are slated to begin later in the year.
