JAMB Implements 'No Vision, No Registration' and Mandatory Status Disclosure for 2026

The 2026 UTME registration period has introduced two stringent integrity measures: the 'No Vision, No Registration' policy and the 'Mandatory Status Disclosure.' The 'No Vision' policy stipulates that any CBT center whose activities cannot be monitored in real-time by JAMB's headquarters via remote surveillance will be barred from registering candidates. This is a direct strike against registration infractions such as the use of proxy biometrics and the creation of 'ghost' candidates. Simultaneously, JAMB has issued a directive requiring all candidates who are already enrolled in a tertiary institution—but are seeking a fresh admission—to disclose their current matriculation status during registration. Investigative reports suggest this is aimed at curbing 'admission hoarding,' where students occupy multiple slots across different universities, thereby denying others a chance. Prof. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB's spokesperson, clarified that the board does not prohibit current students from seeking a change of institution through the UTME, but failure to declare their existing status will lead to the immediate forfeiture of both the old and new admissions. This crackdown significantly levels the playing field for first-time applicants. By flushing out 'professional exam takers' and dual-admission seekers, the 'true' competition pool becomes more transparent. For the average 2026 candidate, this means that the scores reflecting on the merit lists are more likely to be legitimate, potentially lowering the unofficial 'inflated' cut-off marks that occur when high-scoring proxies dominate the top percentiles. Furthermore, the real-time monitoring of centers ensures that candidates are not extorted for fees beyond the official ₦7,200 (without mock) or ₦8,700 (with mock) packages. As February progresses, JAMB's technical teams are conducting random 'integrity sweeps' of centers. Candidates are warned that any attempt to bypass the biometric verification through 'special centers' will result in a permanent ban from all future JAMB-conducted examinations. These measures, while strict, are designed to restore confidence in the Nigerian university entry system.
