The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of a mop-up examination for affected candidates of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This opportunity is specifically reserved for students who, despite arriving at their designated centers and undergoing biometric verification, were unable to complete their examinations due to unforeseen technical challenges.

The initial examination window, which took place between April 16 and April 29, 2026, saw over 2.2 million candidates participate across 989 centers. While the exercise was largely successful, the board acknowledged that several centers experienced disruptions, leading to the cancellation or postponement of specific sessions.

Candidates are advised to log into the JAMB portal to confirm their eligibility for the mop-up exercise. Prof. Oloyede emphasized that only candidates who were biometrically verified during the original exercise are eligible for this special sitting. Furthermore, the board continues to investigate cases of examination malpractice from the earlier dates and warns that those involved in irregularities will not be considered for this mop-up window.
