In a bid to streamline the professional training of health workers, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the admission threshold for Colleges of Nursing across Nigeria for the 2026/2027 academic session. Following the nationwide policy meeting held on May 11, 2026, the board has set the minimum cut-off mark for admission into these specialised institutions at 140.

This decision reflects the growing need for a regulated, high-quality standard for nursing education, which has seen an influx of applicants this year. Prospective nursing students must meet this 140-point requirement as a baseline. However, candidates should be aware that many top-tier nursing schools may enforce higher internal cut-off marks during their own post-UTME screening exercises. Any student under the age of 16 as of the start of the academic session will not be permitted to register on the matriculation portal.
