JAMB Clarifies Status of Undergraduates Seeking New UTME/DE Admissions
"JAMB debunks claims of a ban on undergraduate students registering for the UTME, outlining mandatory disclosure rules."
In response to circulating social media rumors, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has clarified that currently enrolled undergraduate students are not barred from registering for the 2026 UTME or Direct Entry. However, the Board issued a stern warning that candidates must disclose their existing matriculation status during the registration process for record-keeping and regulatory purposes. Failure to disclose current enrollment details could lead to the cancellation of both the current and any subsequent admissions. The policy aims to prevent illegal multiple admissions while allowing students legitimate paths to change institutions or programs.
