JAMB Clarifies Policy on Current Undergraduates Registering for 2026 UTME
"JAMB has debunked claims that current university students must withdraw before registering for a new UTME, stating only 'mandatory disclosure' is required."
Responding to widespread social media rumors, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that it has not banned currently enrolled undergraduate students from registering for the 2026 UTME. According to the Board, students seeking to change institutions or courses via a new examination do not need to terminate their current admission before applying. However, JAMB stressed that such candidates must perform a 'mandatory disclosure' of their current matriculation status during the registration process. This measure is intended to maintain accurate records and prevent the illegal holding of multiple admissions across different institutions.
