JAMB Debunks 'Ban' on Current Undergraduates Writing UTME
"JAMB has cleared the air regarding social media rumors claiming that currently enrolled university students are barred from registering for the 2026 UTME."
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed viral social media reports claiming a new policy prevents current university undergraduates from sitting for the UTME. In a statement released via its official channels, the board clarified that students already enrolled in tertiary institutions are permitted to register for the 2026 exam provided they make a 'mandatory disclosure' of their matriculation status during registration. JAMB stated that this requirement is necessary to prevent illegal multiple admissions and maintain accurate records within the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
