"Lagos State University (LASU) has launched its official online screening portal for the 2026/2027 admission session, offering a smooth application process for all candidates."
LASU Launches Interactive Screening Platform
Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has officially declared its online admission screening portal open for the 2026/2027 academic session. As one of Nigeria's most prestigious state universities, LASU continues to draw massive applications due to its global rankings, proximity to the nation’s economic hub, and modernized administrative and educational infrastructure.
The university management has introduced an upgraded online screening platform to make the application process seamless, fast, and secure for prospective UTME and Direct Entry candidates. This computerized screening system eliminates physical bottlenecks, allowing applicants to register, upload, and verify their documents from anywhere in the world.
Candidate Categorization and Eligibility Matrix
To ensure a smooth registration flow, LASU has categorized applicants based on their admission routes. Candidates must carefully select their appropriate category on the landing page to avoid system errors during login:
1. Regular UTME Candidates: Prospective students who chose LASU as their first choice in the 2026 UTME, met the institution's cut-off mark, and possess the requisite five O'level credits.
2. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates: Applicants with diploma certificates, NCE, or IJMB qualifications seeking admission directly into 200-level streams.
3. Lagos State Indigenes Verification: LASU implements a specialized verification exercise for candidates who claim Lagos State indigeneship to ensure equitable distribution of admission quotas.
Online Application Flow and Document Uploads
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of N2,000 through the LASU Webpay portal. Upon payment confirmation, the applicant can access the main bio-data form. It is mandatory to upload a high-quality passport photograph, WAEC/NECO/NABTEB results, and other relevant certificates.
LASU operates a point-graded system where O'level grades (A1 to C6) are assigned specific point values. The cumulative points, combined with the candidate's UTME score, determine their final aggregate screening score. Candidates are therefore warned to enter their grades with extreme accuracy, as any error will lead to disqualification.
