NASU, SSANU Commence Nationwide Indefinite Strike
"Non-academic staff in federal universities and inter-university centres have embarked on an indefinite strike over unresolved renegotiations of the 2009 FGN/University staff agreement."
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) commenced an indefinite strike on May 1, 2026. The unions cited the federal government's failure to conclude renegotiations and present a new offer on allowances before their April 30 deadline. The strike is expected to severely disrupt administrative and support services in federal universities across Nigeria.
