NUC Approves 13 New Degree Programmes Including AI and Nuclear Engineering
"The National Universities Commission (NUC) has expanded the Nigerian University System with 13 new disciplines to meet global industrial demands."
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has formally approved 13 new degree programmes to be integrated into the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS). The new courses include B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence, B.Eng. Nuclear Engineering, B.Sc. Intelligence and Security Studies, and B.Sc. Telecommunication Science. These programmes are designed to align Nigerian graduates with 21st-century technological trends. Universities that have passed the resource assessment visit are authorized to begin admitting students into these disciplines for the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 academic sessions to address critical national development needs in security and technology.
