As the 2026 admission cycle kicks into high gear, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has finalized the implementation of Phase 2 of the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS). This update has led to the formal approval of 13 new degree programs across various Nigerian universities, ranging from Cyber Security and Data Science to specialized tracks in Social Entrepreneurship. Universities are now required to allocate 70% of their resources to programs that align with the 2026-2030 National Manpower Plan, which heavily favors STEM and vocational degrees.
