SSANU and NASU Commence Nationwide Indefinite Strike
"Non-academic staff unions have begun an indefinite strike across all federal and state universities over stalled 2009 agreement negotiations."
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has directed its members to embark on a total and comprehensive strike starting May 1, 2026. The industrial action follows the government's failure to meet demands regarding the renegotiation of 2009 agreements and the rejection of a 30 per cent pay increase offer.
