University of Abuja Matriculates 8,000 Students Amid Admission Capacity Concerns
"The University of Abuja has matriculated over 8,000 new students for the 2025/2026 academic session, highlighting a competitive admission ratio."
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) held its matriculation ceremony on February 12, 2026, for the 2025/2026 academic session. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Hakeem Fawehinmi revealed that the institution offered admission to just over 8,000 candidates out of more than 30,000 applicants. The VC attributed the limited intake to capacity constraints and a commitment to maintaining high academic standards. He also announced new strategic partnerships to enhance the university's ICT infrastructure and warned new students of a zero-tolerance policy regarding cultism and examination misconduct.
