"Following intense negotiations with the Student Union Government, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has agreed to lower its initial 100% tuition increase to 60%."
NSUKKA - The Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has reached a consensus with student representatives to review the controversial fee hike for the 2025/2026 academic session. Originally proposing a 100% increment in sundry charges, the management faced widespread protests from students and parents. After several rounds of dialogue, the Acting Public Relations Officer, Mr. Inya Agha Egwu, announced that the increment has been pegged at 60%. The new agreement also includes a provision for students to pay in installments across two semesters to alleviate financial pressure. Additionally, the university confirmed that hostel accommodation fees will remain unchanged for the duration of the current session.
